Join Us On February 18 For Free Webinar On The SBA's Consolidated All Small Mentor-Protégé Program

Last Fall, in October 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) issued its final rule merging its 8(a) Business Development Mentor-Protégé Program with its All Small Mentor-Protégé Program.  The combined mentor-protégé programs are now administered and regulated under the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program.

On February 18, 2021 at 12:30 (EST), Mark Amadeo will discuss briefly how the SBA's consolidated All Small Mentor-Protégé Program expands contracting opportunities for small business protégés and their approved mentors and will touch briefly on the application process, as well as the requirements imposed by the SBA's regulations on mentors and protégés, mentor-protégé agreements, and mentor-protégé joint venture arrangements.  To register for the free webinar, go here

Join Us On August 29 For Free Webinar On The 2019 Changes To The SBIR Program

Earlier this year, in April 2019, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) revised the Policy Directives that govern the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program.  The revisions, which became effective May 2, 2019, include several significant changes to the SBIR and STTR Program, including combining the separate SBIR & STTR Policy Directives into one document.  The Policy Directive amendments also made clarifications to the SBIR and STTR data rights applicable during the protection period, as well as to the Phase III award preference to Phase I or II awardees.  Perhaps the most significant changes, however, are to the length of the SBIR/STTR Data Rights protection period, which is now 20 years, and the elimination of perpetual extensions in SBIR/STTR data rights protection.

On August 29, 2019 at 12:30 pm (EDT), Mark Amadeo will discuss the SBIR/STTR Program changes and the unique opportunities still available to small businesses under the SBIR and STTR Program to develop commercially viable innovative technologies.  To register for the free webinar, go here.

Join Us on March 10 For Free Webinar On Joint Ventures In Government Contracting!

During the Summer of 2016, the SBA made a number of changes to rules concerning how joint ventures can be awarded small business contracts, including set-asides for 8(a) Participants, HUBZone Small Businesses, WOSB's, SDVOSB's and small businesses. A related development at that time was the SBA's unveiling of its "All Small" Mentor-Protege Program. The most significant impact of these changes is the expansion of opportunities for businesses to compete for and perform under set-asides that they otherwise would not be eligible for.  On March 10, 2017 at 12:30 pm (EST), Mark Amadeo and Jennifer Schaus, Principal & Founder of Jennifer Schaus & Associates will discuss the rule changes, the unique opportunities now available to companies that align in joint ventures, and marketing tips for joint ventures looking for their next government contract.  To register for the free webinar, go here.
